Part 1: Setting up a hosting account at HostGator
Thanks to Al Gore, we have the Information Super Highway (you may know it as the “Internet”) at our disposal for all manner of things: e-mailing our friends and clients; buying CDs, books, and vintage lava lamps; and, most importantly, setting up blogs like this one. OK–so maybe Al Gore didn’t invent the Internet but you can still do those other things–and a whole lot more.

NOTE: This post was edited to reflect the true order of happenings: I set up the hosting account before I bought the domains. It was late when I wrote the original post–what can I say?
Getting your own space on the Web is simple: buy a domain name, sign up for hosting, and upload your files. Could it be any easier? The devil, it’s said, is in the details, and that’s as true in this process as any.
